The adventure of love deserves its own attention. Carmen & Max made their own memories on this moody but meaningful day.
Deception Pass - where your elopement can feel like a daydream infused with the magic of the PNW. Surrounded by water, peppered with old growth trees covered in ethereal lichens, outlined by rocky formations, and topped off with that iconic historic bridge. If you’ll be saying your vows anytime soon, Deception Pass is undoubtedly a solid choice.
The only drawback might be the thunderous roar of jet engines from the nearby Naval Air Station that sometimes rip overhead. Sooooo it’s 50/50 serene. But if you’re like me and think military aircraft are actually pretty interesting, it’s more of a win/win.
I love the backdrop of Deception Pass State Park. Easy parking and pretty accommodating for many tourists and explorers (summer weekends are a challenge at any gorgeous PNW spot). The water is a jewel-tone of blues and greens. You can get up-close-and-personal with the bridge. And just ten minutes down the road is Rosario Head, where the vibes are a little different but equally as dreamy.
These two have a beachy theme going for their love story; he proposed at Rialto Beach on the coast, and then they planned this elopement at Deception Pass to affirm their intentions. They kept this day for just them. To be present and make some memories where they won’t feel scattered or overwhelmed. They’ll have a summer celebration later, with their closest people to celebrate; but this? This was theirs and theirs alone.
