He’s been 8 for less than 2 months, and already I can’t believe how much he’s grown into the role.

Adventure is the name of his game, through and through. Suddenly, everything is worth being explored (again); the little things hold secrets and treasures that he’s excited to rediscover with his new found point of view…

He loves being woken up when it’s still dark out, just because that makes the day more “mysterious and exciting”.
Playing hide & seek in the dark with friends is one of his new favorite things to do.
Kid curse words have made their debut, with classics like “holy heck!”, “dangit!” and “derp”.
He’s officially taken the bedtime reading ritual of his younger days into his own hands, and now reads chapter books to himself every night.
The library has become a place of magic and wonder for him; rivaling his love for the park and playground.
He’s started developing his own fashion sense, and it is awesome.

I love seeing these little things and simple days from his perspective. Keep growing up + growing awesome, kid.
